Self Love Friday! 5 Ways to Clear Your Mind and Focus on the Positive.
I think something every women needs is a reminder that you are beautiful, amazing, and down right the bomb especially moms when they get so over worked and over stressed caring about everyone else where they forget about themselves. There are days where I tend to feel down about myself and start to feel like I am going no where. So I have decided to make a list of 5 ways to clear your head and focus on the positive that your life has to offer you.
- Read. Reading can be an incredible thing. Finding self care book are honestly so refreshing and one of my favorite things to read. They can make you feel like a bad ass boss bitch in as little as 2 chapters. Some of my favorite self care books include Girl Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur by Cara Alwill Leyba, You are a Baddass by Jen Sincero, and #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso.
- Be In Good Company. Whenever I start to feel down I take myself out to see family. Being around people you love and people who love you can calm your nerves and make you realize that there are people who care and love you endlessly. Family can make you cry, laugh and take the pain away. But it isn't always just your family. Good friends can also turn your life around. Maybe you need a phone call with a friend, or just to go out with coffee. Being a mom is stressful and even a 5 minuet phone call can mean the world.
- Exercise. Sometimes sitting at home all day or being at work can make you feel tired which tends to make your emotions more out of wack. Get up and go for a walk, do some zumba, get your heart rate going. The endorphins trigger a positive feeling in your body. They get you feeling energized and could make your long gloomy day seem more positive. Personally I love watching on Blogilates on YouTube and seeing how much I can keep up with her Pilates. They are easy and simple enough to do at home and even with your kids.
- Write down your successes. Not everyone in the whole wide world has to know your successes but you may need to look at them to see the bigger picture. Take 5 minuets out of your day to jot down a list of your 5 success of the week. Anything big or small is a success. This can include working out for 2 days that week, cooking a new dinner, or even getting a promotion on a job. Writing those down and concentrating on them can help you clear you head and let you focus on all the positive thing that are going on in your life.
- Write yourself a love letter. Our biggest enemy is ourselves. You could be having a bad day and just continue to put yourself down even when everyone has told you the amazing job you are doing. At the end of the week write yourself a love letter. Take you time on this and make sure to get every little thing you love about yourself, love that you are doing, and love that is going on in your life. Put those letter in a drawer or anywhere for safe keeping and when you start to lose yourself pull them out. Reading those can calm your nerves and remind yourself of the amazing person you are.
